Cinnamon origin

It comes from Sri Lanka. Its origin was long unknown, as the suppliers of spices wanted to maintain a monopoly. Crusaders brought the spice in Europe.

In the middle ages, it was considered an aphrodisiac, while elsewhere it has been used for various purposes much earlier.

Egypt used it for embalming, and it was also mentioned in the Bible.

Two types of cinnamon

There are two types of spice: Ceylon or “true” cinnamon (Cinnamomum zeylanicum, C. verum), which is also more expensive, and Cassius cinnamon (Cinnamomum cassia), which originates from China and Indonesia.

Coumarin can be present in both but is more common in cinnamon Cassius.

We use its tree bark for making delicious desserts and drinks. It is an integral part of curry. The spice should be stored in tightly closed containers in a dark place.

Cinnamon tea benefits

This spicy drink contains a number of substances (polyphenol polymers) that improve the ability of cells for the consumption of glucose.

They allow cells to take more out of your bloodstream. The cinnamon has much manganese, iron, calcium, and fiber.

Tea from the ground cinnamon and cardamom relieves symptoms of heartburn. Soak a teaspoon of ground spices in the boiling water, then strain and drink it when it is ready.

Cope with fungal infections

Put eight crushed cinnamon sticks in the boiling water (4 cups) and simmer for five minutes.

When you turn off the fire, let them soak for 45 minutes (consumption of this tea helps to control fungal infections)

Say goodbye to flu

The tea eliminates diarrhea, nausea, stomach flu, lowers high blood pressure and eases problems with arthritis.

Pour 2 to 3 dl of water on half a teaspoon of ground cinnamon, leave it for 10 minutes covered and then drink.

How can I use cinnamon to lose weight?

The tea will help you lose extra weight. Drink it with honey on an empty stomach every morning and before bedtime.

With regular consumption, you will lose fat because it prevents body fat accumulation. This recipe also works for those who already suffer from overweight.

The recipe

Put 1 teaspoon of ground spice in the cup. Boil 200 ml of water. Pour the hot water in the cup and let it stand for half an hour.

When the mixture is cooled down, add one tablespoon of honey in the drink. Drink half of the tea before going to bed.

Store the rest of the tea in the refrigerator for the next morning and drink it on an empty stomach.

Don’t add any other additives in the drink. This slimming drink is effective only if you drink it on an empty stomach and before going to bed.

After a short period, you will notice the change in the waist and also begin to lose weight. Cinnamon and honey cleanse the digestive tract so this beverage really works.

Apple cinnamon tea benefits

Hot drink with apples and cinnamon is good before bedtime because it acts soothing, relaxing and anti-inflammatory.

This applies both to internal organs, as well as the throat. It improves blood circulation and therefore can be used to overcome cold hands, feet and nose.

With better blood circulation you will also improve your mood. This drink also opens up the airways.

It works in the case when you have too much mucus, and also when the mucosa is completely dry.

You can also try cinnamon vanilla tea that is popular on cold days and other warmer seasons.

Side effects

It is true that the spice has extraordinary qualities however, we must be aware that this is still a medicinal agent that can have unpleasant side effects if we use it incorrectly regarding our general state of health.

Can it irritate your stomach?

People who have stomach problems such as gastritis and ulcers in the gastrointestinal tract should be cautious when using it.

This is because the spice contains an essential oil that acts irritating and can worsen the condition and well-being.

Is it safe during pregnancy?

Pregnant women and nursing mothers should be cautious too. As most of the nutrients, cinnamon substances go directly to the baby through the amniotic fluid and breast milk.

Each type of hypersensitivity to the spice should be a warning sign for you.

Drink it through the year!

We love to use cinnamon bark and cinnamon tea in wintertime, don’t we?

However, the spice is popular all year long as you can drink it as a tea, as spicy milk and it tastes wonderful in coffee, I invite you to try it.

You saw that this aromatic spice has many beneficial effects on our bodies so I recommend it for preventing and curing diseases (especially colds and flu in wintertime).

Cinnamon drink also relaxes and stops sugar cravings. When you will be hungry for a chocolate or other sweet dessert, prepare yourself a cinnamon tea and enjoy drinking it sip by sip.

If you are diabetic, drink the tea and eat the spice on a regular basis as it will help you with blood sugar control.

It is good for weight loss because it prevents accumulation of fat. With regular use on an empty stomach, you should see positive results soon but don’t expect miracles.

You can add lemon juice or honey in the drink or other spices and fruit.

Don’t forget, you can it in your hot chocolate, milk or coffee too. Take your time and enjoy this powerful spice tea!
