Participants completed a snoring survey before and after childbirth. The results of the survey were compared in correlation with the occurrence of certain complications during pregnancy and APGAR evaluation of the baby after delivery.
The study confirmed that pregnant women who snored on a daily basis were exposed to a higher risk of complications during pregnancy. 14% of pregnant women who have snored met with hypertension, while preeclampsia (PE) developed at 10% of women. Newborns of snoring mothers were also rated with a lower APGAR score.
